We have officially entered the meteor shower season of 2023 with the Perseids meteor shower. The Perseids meteor shower peak just passed and opens way to a slew of meteor showers. If you missed the peak of the Perseids don’t worry, you can still go out and see meteors streaking across the sky. The show doesn’t end until September 1st.

To best view of any meteor shower, be sure to get away from lights in a dark viewing area. If you live in a city, drive away from the city and look away from the city lights. City lights will interfere with many fainter meteors. You want to see as many meteors as possible.

The Perseids meteor shower is an impressive show and what many call the opening show of meteor showers. There are many meteor showers that occur every year. View when the next meteor shower will be visible and its’ peak at Space.com.

What is the Perseids Meteor Shower?

Perseids Meteor Shower is the first of several meteor showers earth encounters each year. It is also the most active producing around 100 meteors streaking across the sky each hour. Some of the meteors become very bright and can turn into large fireballs.
